A New Song
“A New Song”
I gotta new song playing in my head,
Morning to night, even lying in bed.
I gotta new tune dancin’ in my heart,
Pushin’ out all the dark.
Welcome to the new song,
Sorry it took so long.
You gave me a new song I didn’t deserve,
Gave it with grace (without reserve).
Yesterday I screamed, now I sing,
Yesterday I lusted, now I love,
Yesterday I hoarded, now I give,
Yesterday I had idols, now I have You.
Thank you for the new song playing in my heart,
Welcome to the new song,
Sorry it took so long.

Ice Age
“Ice Age”
Cold lovers seeking warmth,
Empty people seeking more.
Finding meaning in the dark,
Ignorant of what’s in store.
It’s the ice age.
Pretty pictures everywhere,
Conceal the cuts and sores.
Ask for Likes and Follows,
Ignorant of what’s in store.
It’s the ice age.
See the lighthouse always there,
Run to its graceful light.
Let it wash and renew you,
Purpose and love’s in sight.
Just open your heart
And melt away,
With Him. With Him.
Just open your heart
And melt away,
With Him. With Him.

One Step at a Time
“One Step at a Time”
Didn’t know my ma
Didn’t know my pa
I was left on a courthouse step.
But that’s okay, that’s alright
‘Cause Jesus found me, held me tight.
Took my hand and led me
Step by step
I was left on a courthouse step,
but I’ve been livin’ one step at a time,
One step at a time, following Jesus
One step at a time, following Jesus
He showed me who I am.
Now here I sit in a black robe, inside that same courthouse
Hearing cases, passing judgment, as honestly as I can.
Praise Jesus, he showed me who I am.
Yeah, was left on a courthouse step, but been livin’ one step at a time,
With Jesus, who knows who I am,
With Jesus, who knows who I am,
With Jesus, who knows who I am.

Pull Back My Hand
“Pull Back My Hand”
Sometimes in weakness, I forget you are there
When I can’t see the truth, and temptation is everywhere.
Sometimes in dreams, I let resentment fill the night
When pride takes a stand and replaces love in my sight.
In those times I reach for, reach for, reach for
Earthly things,
But then you pull back, pull back, pull back my hand
Before sin stings.
In those times I reach for, reach for, reach for
Earthly things,
But then you pull back, pull back, pull back my hand
Before sin stings.

Road to Nineveh
“Road to Nineveh”
Oh, Nineveh, your barbed gates stand so tall,
Why’s this troubled land my goal?
Ain’t no place for a ramblin’ soul.
Gotta run away
To find my own way.
You say east, but I look west,
One path left, another right.
Who’s to say where I’ll go tonight?
I took your blessings and bartered for flesh,
On the road away,
Away from Nineveh.
Each bridge I crossed burst into flames,
On the road away,
Away from Nineveh.
Behind me cry the loved ones
Traded for fame.
On the road away,
Away from Nineveh.
Dear Lord, forgive this wretch,
I crawl on bleeding knees,
Arms outstretched.
What have I done?
What have I done to me?
You picked me up; shook me hard,
Turned me with a loving hand,
Back in the direction
From which I ran.
I’m on my way to Nineveh to do your bidding,
I’m on the road to Nineveh, my sins no longer hidden,
I’m on the road to Nineveh to be your son,
And sing your words until I’m done.
Faith is my armor and music my spear,
Back on the road to Nineveh.
Faith is my armor and music my spear,
Back on the road to Nineveh.
